How to Make a Continuum Bracelet

Zachariah
March 14, 2015

To make this beautiful steampunk bracelet at home is not hard but you will need a lot of time and attention to detail, but all that hard work pays off when you get out the door and receive all the compliments for skill and creativity.

You will need:

• Epoxy
• A beading needle
• Waxed thread
• Watch movements

• A small piece of stiff leather
• Some seed beads
• Any other beads or crystals you want to use for accents
• Jump rings
• A clasp
•Some free time

First, buy few watch movements from eBay or vintage store, flea market or pawn shop. Select the ones you really like, would like to wear and appeal to you personally. Add some additional gears, keys, small cameos, glass beads or whatever you like.

Epoxy everything together and to the leather backing, leaving about 2 mm around the edges.

Now it is time to start beading.

What is a best piece of advice is to use pliers to hold a needle and price the leather, it will be much easier and you will avoid stabbing yourself.

Use peyote stitch to bead the bead frame around the watch movement. You can find great tutorials how to do peyote stitch on youtube if you need it.

Now it is time to use your artistic judgement and see if you need some more beads or crystals or something.

Now add some jump rings between each watch movement linking them together again using peyote stitch, also attach a clasp at the ends.

Now get ready and hit the town to show off your work.
